keep it to yourself

Keep it to your self
Reading this title, I know what you are all thinking, keep what in?, well I would say that if you are living in Egypt , or let us say if you have been living in Egypt for quite enough time, then for sure you will know that it is keep your “opinion” to yourself. So being very honest about this , I am just not so sure if its only me who suffers from this , or is it that everyone is suffering the way I am , or if people have simply gotten used to it , but personally speaking , I am truly suffering from the fact that some Egyptians just can not keep it for themselves , so sometimes, I am driving , normally , and the all of sudden , someone whom I have never seen my entire life , comes and be like , you should do this or that , go right or go left, slow down , why are you driving like this , really dude? Why do you care , do you think that I would be having a car and wondering the streets if I do not already know how to drive the thing ? . However, you can actually hear a little bit more personal comments from people that you do not even know , like for example , if you are a girl and you are doing something a little different with your hair, you get out of the house , start walking down the street , and then, here it comes , “ what is wrong with your hair today”? , and then you go like , what is wrong with my hair, ohh wait a second , who are you ? how do you know me ? and more importantly, why on earth would you care??. However , there is another case , you know when you know someone a little but then they start thinking that they know you a lot , for example , the man working in the supermarket of your neighborhood, you like see him on a daily basis and so after some time , and only out of politeness , you start saying hi , how are things today, and then one day , he start thinking you guys are friends now , and it is then when the wired questions start , so , “where exactly is your building “?, “what floor?” , “ where were you the past few days”? , “ why are you late today?” , and it just gets so wired because you do know the guy, but you do not actually know him enough to answer these. So wrapping it all up , I would say that Egyptians’ kindness can actually be a double edged weapon , I can understand that it is  just out of kindness and feeling that we are together and united , but call me close minded, I do not really like being that close to the street .
